Last Tuesday it was forecast to be warm and sunny so I decided that we'd skip playgroup and head down to the beach instead. We dropped Mr 6 at school (went home quickly to get the bucket and spade that Mr 3 forgot!) and were down at the beach by 9.45am. I don't think we'd been to North Narrabeen before but I wanted to check out photography locations so chose the tidal pools to visit. There's a carpark that we parked in (although it was paid parking) and then were able to pack the pram with our beach gear and walk down the concrete path all the way to the pool and beach. This made it so much easier since it was just me with the 2 kids. We set up on the sand next to the pool and spent 4 hours there! Mr 3 had the best time and the pool was perfect for him. There's a ramp leading into the water as well as steps so he could happily play while I watched on (it was too cold for me to put more than my feet in!). The pool was shallow enough for him to stand at (waist height for him at the end where the entrance is). We did venture out onto the rocks by walking along the pool wall (I put Bub in the baby carrier) but we didn't have shoes on so didn't go too far once on the rocks as they were a bit rough. There were kids on school excursions out there looking at all the sea creatures so I think it'd be fun to go back with hubby and Mr 6 and have a proper look. There's also a toilet block with showers so all in all, a perfect beach location for kids!
